Based in Sydney. Have camera. Will travel.
I'm Callan, but please call me Cal.
Over a decade ago I picked up a camera and never really put it back down. I fell in love with the way a single photograph can stop time, the way it holds a feeling, a glance, a moment that would otherwise be gone forever. Weddings are where I get to do that work at its highest level, and I'm still as obsessed with it as I was at the start.
I'm a collector of quiet moments and a student of light. I'm equally at home in a cathedral or a backyard, with a crowd of three hundred or a ceremony of ten. I'm the kind of photographer who notices the father blinking back tears before anyone else does, and who is there for every moment from getting ready in the morning to the first songs of the dance floor.
My work is influenced by minimalism and fashion photography. I create images that are timeless, elegant, and above all, true to the people in them. I'm not interested in stiff poses or manufactured moments. I photograph the real: the quiet glances, the unguarded laughter, the rhythm of the day as it unfolds.
I take on a maximum of 30 weddings per year. Every couple gets my full attention, from the first conversation to the final image.
If my work resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
