Based in Sydney. Have camera. Will travel.

I’m Callan, but please call me Cal.

Many years ago I picked up a camera, and I never really put it back down again. After over a decade of shooting weddings, I’m still passionate about creating beautiful images that last a lifetime.

I’m a mountain biker, road cyclist, car enthusiast, cat enthusiast, dog patter, coffee drinker, bedroom guitarist and explorer. I’m an introvert, extrovert, listener, dreamer and photographer. I love sunrises, sunsets, candid moments, long walks on the beach, cliches, puns, beautiful light and black & white photos.

My work is influenced by minimalism, fashion photography, and the beauty of natural light. I create images that are timeless, elegant, and above all, true to the people in them.

I’m not interested in stiff poses or manufactured moments. Instead, I photograph the real: the quiet glances, the unguarded laughter, the rhythm of the day as it unfolds.

My style is authentic and elegant, with minimal posing. I strive to create a comfortable, relaxed and fun atmosphere that lets natural moments unfold throughout the day, allowing your genuine emotions to be photographed.

Be yourselves and enjoy your wedding day the way you want to.

I take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure that every couple gets the love, attention and care that they deserve.

If my work resonates with you then, I would love to hear from you.

Approach

Every photographer I see online describes their approach in the same way, so instead of doing that, I asked my good friend, Elliott, to describe my style and approach to wedding photography.

Elliott has been one of my regular associate photographers for years, as well as a close friend. In 2022 he married his partner of 10 years, Elyse, and asked me to capture his intimate wedding celebration. I was honoured. This is what he said:

“I'm just going to go off cuff:

  • fun

  • light hearted

  • not serious, while serious

  • banter, candid imagery, relaxed experience

I feel like you read the room well. The experience with you is relaxed, easy, funny, guaranteed to laugh, while delivering an exceptionally high quality product.

That’s your point of difference; the experience.”

My approach is calm and observant, always looking for the details that make a wedding uniquely yours.

Your wedding day should feel effortless. My role is to quietly document it as it unfolds, guiding you only when it helps, and stepping back when it matters most. Here’s what you can expect when we work together.

1. Let’s Connect

Start by reaching out through my enquiry form. Share a little about your plans, the date, the location, what you’re dreaming of. I’ll send you my detailed pricing guide and answer any questions.

2. Booking

Once you’ve chosen a package, I’ll send through a short agreement and deposit invoice. After that, your date is locked in and you can relax knowing photography is taken care of.

3. Planning Together

In the months leading up to your wedding, I’ll be here as much or as little as you need. I can recommend timings, light filled locations, or just be a sounding board when you’re working out logistics.

4. The Wedding Day

On the day, I’ll work quietly in the background, capturing the real and unposed. From morning nerves to late night joy, I’ll be documenting the big moments, and the fleeting ones you might not even notice until you see them in your gallery.

5. Your Images

Within 6–8 weeks, you’ll receive a curated online gallery of hand edited images in both high resolution and web ready formats. You’ll be able to download, share, and relive your day instantly. Albums and prints can be designed together afterwards for a lasting keepsake.

The experience

My couples often tell me how calm the experience feels, “like having a friend there, but one who happens to capture everything beautifully.” That’s exactly how I want it to be: easy, relaxed, and natural.
