Based in Sydney. Have camera. Will travel.

I'm Callan, but please call me Cal.

Years ago I picked up a camera and never really put it back down. There's something about the way a single photograph can stop time. The way it holds a feeling, a glance, a moment that would otherwise be gone forever. That's what keeps me obsessed with this work.

I'm a collector of quiet moments and a student of light. I shoot instinctively, staying close, staying present. I'm interested in what's real. The unguarded expressions, the spaces between the big moments, the way people move when they forget they're being photographed.

My work is influenced by minimalism and editorial fashion photography. I'm not interested in stiff poses or manufactured emotion. I'm interested in truth. Images that are elegant because they're honest, not because they're arranged.

I work with a small number of couples each year. Every one gets my full attention, from the first conversation to the final image.

If my work resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
